Young traders are being encouraged to set up stalls at a special market in April.

Slough BID and Queesmere Observatory Shopping Centre are partnering up to launch a Young Trader Market in Slough town centre on April 12.

The event hopes to boost small local businesses owned by young entrepreneurs aged between 16 and 30.

On the day, stall handlers will be able to sell their goods from 10am to 5pm at stalls costing £5.

It comes as part of a national initiative run by the National Market Traders Federation (NMTF), which is in its twelfth year.

Each year the scheme attracts more and more young traders providing much-needed opportunities for those who have set up businesses in arts and crafts, general retail, food and beverages and many more.

Interested participants must be already trading, so not looking for a business opportunity but looking to grow their business, move from online to physical presence etc.

Clarissa Parker, Slough BID manager said: "We are delighted to be working with a range of partners on this initiative in what we hope will lead to more markets and activities in the town centre."
