A new restaurant has joined the growing Waterside Quarter in Maidenhead.

ToMo Tankovna is a European concept restaurant offering Czech Budvar from tanks at the bar.

It opened its doors to the public on Friday, February 9, run by husband and wife team Tomasz and Monika.

They said: "The first week was amazing and we had lots of local people coming to enjoy our food and beers."

The dream became reality last year when the pair decided to take a leap and bring the Czech beer culture to Maidenhead.

The beer is poured from the unique taps that came all the way from Czechia, with a distinctive foamy top.

The resident bar manager, Michal, has worked many years with Budvar as a brand ambassador and is able to answer any questions about the history of the beer, and its’ pouring technique.

Tomasz and Monika said since opening the restaurant has been "hit with both locals and guests that have travelled far and wide".

A series of 5-star reviews have also been left on the restaurant's page with one stating the restaurant offers "great food, reasonable prices and super friendly service".

ToMo Tankovna is open for lunch from 12:30pm and the kitchen serves dinner all the way into the evenings.

It is encouraged to book ahead but walk-ins are welcomed.
