Angry exchanges have been breaking out in Windsor High Street as crowds gather to show their opposition - or their love - for the arrival of the most controversial president in living memory.

The crowds that gathered in High Street and Thames Street opposite Windsor Castle might not have matched those who gathered for the royal wedding in May. A modest barricade that started at the point where Peascod Street meets High Street was enough to contain the new hundred people who had gathered by 3pm.

Banners were everywhere.

One read 'Where are the babies Donald?' Another 'Small Hands Small Mind'.

But vociferous supporters of the president had come out too.

Kevin Blackburn from Doncaster and Michael Perry from Barnsley had come down specially and used a hailer to repeat their message: 'Say it loud say it clear, Donald Trump you are welcome here'.

They were challenged by American holidaymaker Mary Coleman from Alabama, who told them 'he is horrible, he is rascist, where is your moral compass?'

"My dad was in the CIA and he says he has never seen the country so divided."

"I came on holiday here to get away from it all and now I am in the middle of it again."

Mr Blackburn said: "He is the best president you have ever had."

Prince Innocent from Biafra has been in the UK 10 years and supports the president.

He said: "He is straightforward. He does not support political correctness or just say what people want to head."

Americans Ruthie Stryker and Stephanie Parker met in the crowd.

Mrs Stryker lives in Sunningdale with her husband for seven years and comes from San Francisco. Her banner accused President Trump of being a pathological liar.

Ms Parker's T-shirt said all she felt.

She said: "He does not understand politics or democracy. He is alienating all his allies and befriending dictators."

In the space of 30 seconds one woman said something rude to them, while another congratulated them.
