Ryvers School Summer Fair takes place tomorrow (Saturday) from 11am to 3pm in Trelawney Avenue, Langley. There will be fun for all the family including a bouncy castle, ice cream van, food stalls and games. Entertainment includes Hole in One, Penalty Shoot Out and Sponge the Teacher. Raffle prizes up for grabs feature a gym memberships.

A SCIENCE show told through song takes place at The Curve tomorrow (Saturday) from 2pm. The Ensonglopedia of Science is £6 for children and £8 for adults.

Slough and Windsor Railway Society’s weekly illustrated talk next Friday, July 14 is on the Western Rail Link to Heathrow and will be given by Neil Stevens from Network Rail. It takes place at The Manor, Brunel Way, Slough Railway Station from 7.45pm.All are welcome and entry is £5 for members, £6 for non-members and £4 for members’ concessions and under 16s (accompanied) free.

The Faraday Social Club hosts singer Bethany Williams tomorrow (Saturday) from 9.15pm. She is a music graduate and last performed during Easter at the club in Faraday Road, Slough. Meanwhile Lee Small takes the stage on Sunday. The former member of the legendary Soul Survivors will perform the very best in classic Soul, Motown and sixties Brit pop. On both nights it’s £1 for members and £2 for visitors.

South Bucks

The Ivers Family Fun Day takes place tomorrow (Saturday) at the Evreham Sports Centre in Swallow Street, Iver from 12 to 4pm. The free event will showcase schools and bands on stage while a barbecue and all kinds of entertainment and games will be on offer for children and adults alike. You can park at Flower Land opposite the centre. It is the first time the event has taken place and follows the demise of Party in the Park in 2015.

Stoke Place Hotel in Stoke Green, Stoke Poges hosts its Summer Country Fair on Sunday, July 23. A great day for all the family, there will be games, country pursuits, specialist food and drink stalls and even music, fireworks and cocktails. Entry is £10 per person and under 12s go free. Meanwhile a Wedding Opening Evening takes place on Thursday July 27 from 6.30pm and is free.

The Big Camp takes place at Cliveden today (Friday) from 4 to 11.30pm at the National Trust site in South Bucks. Bring the kids and a tent whilst playing woodland activities and then sleeping below the stars. The evening ends with hot chocolate, marshmallows and storytelling around the campfire. Fancy a walk on Wednesday? A Simply Walk event takes place at the Burnham Beeches nature reserve in Farnham Common from 11am to 12pm. Meet at the cafe at 10.45am with appropriate footwear.

Windsor and Maidenhead

THE On Track for Summer event at Windsor Racecourse is on Saturday, July 22 – a day of dancing, singing and appearances by some of the biggest bands of the era. It will commemorate the original 1967 festival which featured icons like Donovan, the Move and the psychedelic rock band the Crazy World of Arthur Brown. THE Parish church in Old Windsor is opening between 2 and 4pm every Saturday this month and on Saturday, August 5 and 19. This will give people the chance to enjoy seeing the beautiful new wall hanging made by dedicated villagers.

THE first Food & Travel Quiz in aid of Fairtrade’s Growing Women in Coffee Project and End Polio Now takes place at Holyport Memorial Hall in Moneyrow Green on Monday, July 10 from 7.15pm.It will be a fun night of quizzing about food and travel.Tickets are £10 per person and include a cheese platter. Villages

IT IS barbecue season and Datchet Green is the place to be on Saturday, July 15 when the Big Barbecue Boogie takes place from 1pm to 5pm. It is a free event run by the Parish Council in collaboration with village organisations and will mark another big day for the village, only two weeks after the annual fair and the vintage car rally.

THE next meeting of Datchet Parish Council is on Monday at the council offices in Allen Way at 7.30pm.

WRAYSBURY Parish Council meets next on Monday, July 17 in the Village Hall at 7.30pm. Parish council meetings are open to the public, offering chance to hear councillors from the most locally based branch of government discussing the issues of the day.

THE annual meeting of the Colnbrook Residents’ Association is next Thursday, July 13 at 7.30pm in St.Thomas’ Church, Vicarage Way. Please come and learn about plans for the coming year.

STORIES are part of growing up and children can enjoy storytime sessions at Eton Library on Fridays between 2.30pm and 4pm, While Eton Wick Library hosts a storytime and rhyme session between 10.30am and 11am next Wednesday. The events are free.
