PINKNEYS Green Cricket Club has been bowled over by the success of its colts awards night.

The rain clouds stayed away as over 70 children enjoyed a fun-filled skills competition that encompassed all they had learnt over the summer.

The club rewarded the children and parents for an amazing season with a barbecue and awards ceremony.

All players from the U9s and U11s teams received a participation medal, with trophies going to certain players for Best Bowler, Best Batsmen, Most Improved, Player’s Player and The Chairman’s Award.

Chairman, Kevin Snapes, who has been at the club for over 40 years said: “It’s so good to see so many youngsters and parents at our club – over 150.

"We restarted the colts section in 2015 with a handful of players and we've grown to over 70, which is great for the future of the club.

"We believe our success comes from being a family friendly inclusive club whilst offering well organised, all-ability coaching to anyone who would like to join.”

Pinkneys Green offer winter training for U9s, U11ss and U13s from January to April and outdoor training from April onwards.
