WINDSOR, Slough, Eton & Hounslow Athletics Club were the most successful club in the South of England Cross Country relays meeting at Wormwood scrubs on Saturday.

The club came away with two sets of gold team medals, a further set of bronze awards plus six other teams finishing in the top 10 of their event.

The Under 20 men led the way with their podium topping performance thanks to Adam Moore (10min 34secs), Jack Goddard (10.34) and Blake Moore (10.30).

The U17 men followed suit with a gold medal-winning display from Ollie McArthur with 10.43 – the third fastest overall – Shaun Hudson (10.56) and Dan Brookling (11.03).

It was the U15 boys team which collected the bronze medals via the efforts of Sam Hodgson, also the third fastest individual overall, Luke Hynes (6.51) and Will Goddard (7.18).

The B team finished in 16th position with Ross Van Heerde (7.07), Josh Patterson (7.15) and Jordi Evans-Rodriguez (7.23).

Two of the WSEH teams were just out of the medal hunt in fourth place. The U15 girls team comprised Jasmine Young (7.48), her sister Amy Young (7.30) and Eloise Harris (7.37).

The B team of Isabelle Craven (7.59), Holly Landon (7.53) and Lucy Rolfe (8.12) were in 14th position.

The U17 ladies were the others to just miss the medals in fourth place. Molly Jones was timed at 8.08, Maya Hodgson on 9.15 and Morgan Hanson with 8.59.

The U20 ladies were fifth in their race with a storming leg from Meg Ormond on 8.12, supported by Juliette Soane (9.08) and Rebecca Poe (9.21).

There were sixth-placed finishes for both the U13 boys and girls. The contributors were Rocco Hudson (7.35), George Thomas (7.41) and Matthew Knight (7.49).

The best of the girls was Rachel Clutterbuck with 7.56 but she was chased hard by Charlotte Dewar (8.00) and Oona Gibbons (8.09).

An under-strength senior men’s squad still finished in a creditable eighth position via the input from James Tidd, Ben Findlay, Kieran Best and Simon Millett.
