BURNHAM Joggers hosted another record-breaking Burnham Beeches Half Marathon and 10k on Sunday with 975 runners tackling the undulating route in South Buckinghamshire.
The race is on a mix of closed roads and hard-surfaced woodland paths through the cool shade of ancient woodland, which was perfect for the warm weather that was enjoyed on the day.
The Half Marathon runners followed a two-lap course, while the 10k runners took one loop around the route.
The first male to finish the 10k was Lewis Jones from Dacorum & Tring Athletics Club in a time of 36 minutes and 12 seconds (36.12), and the first female was Clare Williams from Handy Cross Runners in 45.59.
Jones said: “Thank you very much for a superb event that I will look forward to attending for years to come.”
Paul Gaimster from Victoria Park Harriers & Tower Hamlets Athletics Club was the first male to cross the finish line in the Half Marathon in one hour, 16 minutes and 47 seconds (1:16.47). The first female was Catherine Ferguson from Serpentine Running Club in 1:32.41.
Paul Woolley was the first member of Datchet Dashers to finish the Half Marathon, stopping the clock at 1:27.15 for 16th position overall. He was followed in by Jonathan Kew of Maidenhead Athletics Club with 1:28.36 (20th) and Datchet clubmate Neil Potter on 1:29.03 (23rd).

Hosted at Caldicott School and now in its 36th year, the race attracted a record 975 runners, compared from 778 the previous year.
Once runners had completed their choice of distance, they were rewarded with a t-shirt, a bespoke medal and a goody bag. There were also prizes for race winners and for age categories.
Entrants and their supporters were also invited to enjoy the grounds of the school, where they had use of the outdoor swimming pool after the race.
