A Marlow Rugby Club player has set an incredible target of raising £1,750 for the NHS – by rowing 700km in ONE WEEK.
Toby Yate, who is a first-team regular at the Riverwoods-based side, will be attempting the challenge on Monday, August 24 after he lost his father and grandmother in the space of four months last year.

He said: “On May 5, 2019, my dad, Stuart Yate died of prostate cancer.
On August 17, 2019, my gran, Sue 'Sunshine Susie' Yate, also died.
"To say thank you to all the amazing people from the NHS who helped them and our family over the years, I will be rowing 700km over the course of a week to raise money for the Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust."

Toby will row 100km a day for seven days to reach his target of 700km in a week.
A spokesperson from the rugby club added: “His and his family's grief was relieved by the wonderful care that both received by the Berkshire NHS team during their illnesses.
“In light of this and the care that the same team are on hand to give all of us during the Covid-19 pandemic, Toby wanted to give something back.
“Anyone that attempted even a 5km ergo challenge will know how tough this exercise is.

“To attempt to repeat the same, 20 times in a day and then do that seven days straight is preparing to put their body through hell!”
