ATHLETES from the Windsor, Slough, Eton & Hounslow (WSEH) Athletics Club featured in county teams at the Inter Counties Cross Country Championships in Loughborough last weekend.

None more so than Will Barnicoat who further enhanced his growing reputation by winning the Under 20s men’s race whilst competing for Surrey.

There were more medals for WSEH athletes in the U15s girls’ race where Charlotte Dewar (eighth place), Rachel Clutterbuck (18th) and Freya Ruffels (51st) took the bronze medal for Berkshire.

There was an excellent run from Ethan Scott for Surrey with fourth position in the U15s boys’ event. Luke Birdseye was in 50th spot for Berkshire.

Molly Jones – competing for Buckinghamshire – was the best WSEH athlete in the U20s ladies’ race with 22nd position.

Summer Chapman was the best of the WSEH U13s athletes with 23rd place while competing for Surrey.

Charlotte Firth was the line WSEH athlete in the senior ladies’ race and finished in finished in 49th spot for Berkshire.

The best of U20s men was Mark Clutterbuck with 58th position for Berkshire.

Ben Dewar was the first WSEH athlete home for Berkshire in the U13 boys’ event with 69th place.

There were some prominent displays from WSEH athletes that contested the Southern Masters Championships at Lee Valley.

None more so than Janet Smith who opened her account with a win in the Vet 50 shot with 12.56m. Shen then went on to take the hammer title with her throw of 39.99m.

Other medallists from WSEH include Tom Reynolds, third in the Vet 35 60m sprint, Michael Louise third in the Vet 35 400m in 53.97 seconds and Glen Reddington, third in the Vet 50 60m hurdles in 9.77secs.
