CHESHAM United regained the winning thread in the BetVictor Southern Premier South after a 3-0 victory against Gosport Borough on Saturday, writes Rob Stevens.
The Generals had not won in both their two previous matches but success at Mill Meadow keeps them in second position in the table and level on points with table toppers Truro City.
The home team took a lead into the break after a brilliant run and reverse pass from Bradley Clayton when Gosport expected him to shoot allowed Eoin Casey to finish easily.
Chesham had the wind at their backs for the second period and doubled the advantage with great work from Clayton and substitute Zak Joseph. It allowed Joseph to get a yard of space and he fired a shot into the bottom corner.
The Generals wrapped up the points when Clayton won the ball back and squared it for Casey to fire home on 84 minutes.
Chesham face a trip to Wimborne Town on Saturday (3pm) looking to complete the league double after a 1-0 home win in the reverse fixture back in October.
Beaconsfield Town gave themselves a huge boost in the battle against relegation following a 2-1 victory over Poole Town.

The Rams were on a six-match winless streak in the league but the victory at Holloways Park, coupled with the sides immediately around them all losing, means they are now five points from safety.
The home team suffered a blow early on as Matthew Sorinola could not continue after a clash of heads. He was taken to Wexham Park Hospital in Slough but has recovered well.
Poole had the only effort on target in a goalless first half when the right winger cut inside and shot but Beaconsfield keeper Myles Bowman was equal to it and pushed the ball away for a corner.
The visitors opened the scoring in the second period as Harry Baker was played through with The Rams looking for offside and slot the ball past Bowman.
Beaconsfield equalised moments later when the Poole keeper parried the ball to Kezie Ibe and his cross found James Ewington to head in at the far post.
The Rams secured three crucial points as Aaron Minhas intercepted a misplaced pass and set up Ewington who finished coolly under the advancing keeper for his second of the game.
Poole were gifted the chance to rescue a draw with the award of a soft penalty late on in the game but Bowman saved the spot-kick.

Beaconsfield make the long trip to Welsh club Merthyr Town on Saturday (3pm) looking to improve upon the goalless draw the two sides played out in the reverse fixture back in October.

Marlow extended their unbeaten run in the BetVictor South Central Division to six matches after a 2-1 win against South Park.
A Jordan Brown penalty kick gave The Blues a narrow lead heading into the break at Oak Tree Road and Louis Rogers doubled the advantage in the second half before Darrul Siaw pulled one back for South Park.
The win means Marlow have no tasted defeat since the loss at title-chasing Hanwell Town in mid-January and remain in 11th position in the league table – 10 points behind the play-off spots but with games in hand on all the sides above them.
The Blues make the trip to bottom-of-the-table Northwood on Tuesday night (7.45pm).
Chalfont St Peter are now on an 11-match winless streak in the league after a 2-0 defeat against Uxbridge.
A goal from Jack Beadle gave Uxbridge the lead heading into the break at Mill Meadow.

The Saints suffered a blow when Kayode Conteh was sent off for a second bookable offence four minutes from time and the visitors secured the points as Mahlondo Martin struck four minutes into time added on.
The defeat means Chalfont remain in 14th position in the table ahead of a trip to Harlow Town on Saturday (3pm).
