SLOUGH maintained their improved form with a 1-0 victory at Sevenoaks in the Investec Women’s League Division One South on Saturday, writes Dave Wright.

With seven points from their last three games, the Pink and Blacks now sit fourth in the table with 19 points from 13 matches.

They were given the boost of an early goal with Imogen Brown scoring after 15 minutes, doubling her total for the season.

Slough came under pressure as Sevenoaks went hunting for an equaliser but they held firm due in no small measure to keeper Asha Tranquille-Day, who pulled off several excellent saves.

She rightly took the player-of-the-match award, but coach Kali Takher was full of praise for the whole team.

He will be hoping for a similar performance when they host sixth-placed Canterbury this Saturday (12.15pm pushback), their penultimate home fixture of the season.

Unbeaten Slough 2s extended their sensational run in the Trysports Three Counties League Premier One to 16 games with a 2-1 win at Wallingford - Lesley Hobley scoring two superb goals.

They are 13 points clear of second-placed Banbury and need just seven points from their remaining six games to clinch the title.

This coming Saturday they are home to fifth-in-the-table Oxford Hawks 3s (10.30am pushback).

Slough men picked up a valuable point in the Middx, Berks, Bucks & Oxon Premier Division Two West by drawing 4-4 at mid-table Tulse Hill & Dulwich.

It took their points tally into double figures and seven points clear of bottom-placed Richmond 2s.

Slough’s goals were shared by Kuli Matharu and Gangandeep Singh, the former taking his season’s total to 12.

This Saturday, Slough are away to Woking, the side immediately above them in the placings.

Slough 2s sit top of the London League’s Division Four following a 3-3 draw away to bottom club Spencer Titans.

They moved a point above Wimbledon 5s, the side they host at Upton Court Park on Saturday (2pm face-off).
