THE final match in the Chiltern Cross Country League took place at the dreaded Campbell Park in Milton Keynes on Saturday.

Maidenhead Athletics Club fielded a full Under 20-17s team for the event which included Abbie Jones, Lili Rawlings and Morgan Englefield. The trio all ran well and as a result the team jumped from 10th position to sixth.

Jones had her best race of the season to come second overall and win the U20s race as well as top spot in Division Two. Jones also won a silver trophy in the U20s Division Two having competed in four out of the five required races.

Both Jon Regan and Elise Lombardo ran the Dorney Lake Winter 10k and perfect calm conditions before the storm.

Regan was first home in 33 minutes and 18 seconds to achieve a new personal best by nearly two and a half minutes.

Lombardo finally succeeded in running this year having previously been prevented by injury. She finished in an impressive 47.13 and was third in her age category.
