SLOUGH Jets climbed up to fourth position in the National Ice Hockey League South One after wins against Chelmsford Chieftains and Milton Keynes Thunder last weekend.

The Jets beat Chelmsford 7-6 in overtime at The Hangar on Saturday before thrashing 8-1 in Buckinghamshire on Sunday, leaving them four points behind leaders Solent Devils in the table.

A goal from Courtney Grant gave Chelmsford the lead inside four minutes at The Hangar, but the home team responded well and led at the first buzzer with both Adam Rosbottom and Matt Jordan on the scoresheet.

The visitors levelled the scores at 2-2 when Elliot Dee Dervish struck eight minutes into the second stanza, but Slough got their noses back in front thanks to Liam Underdown.

Chelmsford levelled again with a goal from Matthew Turner, before the Jets got their noses back in front with strikes from captain Daniel Rose and Luke Reynolds.

The Chieftains pulled a goal back before the buzzer when Darren Brown found the back of the net in the 47th minute.

The away side equalised through Darren Brown 17 seconds into the last period and then took the lead via Gary Brown, but Slough forced over time with a goal from Rose to level the scores at 6-6 just over a minute from the final whistle.

The win against Milton Keynes on Sunday was a lot more straight forward for Slough with goals from Ryan Handisides, Timo Lindgren, Rose and Juha Clifford Lindgren giving them daylight at the first buzzer.

The Jets scored the only goal in the middle period thanks to a strike from Matt Jordan.

The visitors bagged a seventh goal three minutes into the last stanza through Samuel James Talbot, before Connor John Mellett registered a consolation effort for Milton Keynes.

Slough had the final say in the match with a goal from Handisides seven minutes from time.

The Jets have a crunch trip to leaders Solent Devils this Saturday (5pm) in their final match of the calendar.
