SINGH Sabha progressed to the High Wycombe Challenge junior cup semi-final after a comfortable 4-1 win away to Prestwood Reserves on Saturday, writes Cameron Temple.

Sabha raced to a 4-0 half time lead thanks to a brace from the impressive Umar Riaz.

Sabha went into the game on the back of a huge win last Saturday where they beat AFC Cressex 9-3 in the Maidenhead Norfolkian Cup.

Sabha began the game slowly and it took a moment of brilliance to break the deadlock as Sukh Hunjan picked up the loose ball on the edge of the box before firing home into the top corner giving the Prestwood keeper no chance.

Sabha were on the front foot and moments later doubled their lead as the returning Umar Riaz got his first goal of the season with a poacher’s finish, after good work from Rushid Hamid. Shortly after both players combined once again to make it 3-0.

Just before half time Pritpal Raju added a fourth from the penalty spot, taking Sabha into the break with an insurmountable lead.

Both teams were reduced to ten men in the second half, as Prestwood Reserves clawed back a goal, but it was only a consolation as they fell out of the cup.

Sabha are now in their Christmas break with no game scheduled this Saturday and will be back in action on January 4th 2020.
