BERKSHIRE County Cricket Club have introduced annual awards for their youth section – from Under 10 up to U17.

In order to accommodate as many players, parents, coaches and guests as possible, the presentations were made on two successive Friday evenings at the Berkshire County Sports Club in Sonning Lane, Reading.

Both were very well attended with several of the county's 1st XI team there to hand over the trophies and congratulate the recipients.

The host was David Morris, the father of first-team players James and Richard Morris. He was also the 'man with the gavel' at an auction held on each evening, with a bat, signed by the England team which played the West Indies in 2017, among the items on offer.

Money raised from the auctions, along with a heads-and-tails game, will go to club funds.

For each age group, there were two awards – player of the season and for the outstanding performance.

U10: Freddie Corbett and Adhrit Pande.

U11: Isaac Humphrey and Bobby Brown.

U12: James Isbell and Sam Smith.

U13: Andrew MacEwen and Naavya Sharma.

U14: Rhys Lewis and Ben Armstrong.

U15: Charlie Dunnett and Ali Brown.
