WINDSOR recorded a first win of their pre-season campaign after a 7-1 victory against Wantage Town at Stag Meadow on Saturday, writes Rob Stevens.

A goal from Dean Qevani gave


the lead in the friendly match, before James McCarthy equalised for Wantage, champions of the Hellenic Premier Division last season. The home side took a narrow lead into the break thanks to an own goal.

Windsor won the game with a second-half hat-trick from Ted Woodise plus further goals from substitute George Dawson-Clarke and Trevor Mutero.

Windsor had earlier suffered a 3-1 defeat at Holyport in a pre-season friendly at Holyport last Thursday.

Port were two goals ahead heading into the break at Summerleaze and added a third before Andrew Ingram pulled one back for the visitors.

Windsor continue their summer preparations with a visit to Stag Meadow from Bracknell Town on Tuesday (7.45pm) and then Kings Langley this Saturday (3pm).

Burnham suffered a 3-1 defeat at the hands of Berkhampstead in their latest friendly match at The Gore on Saturday.

The Blues

host Thame United on Tuesday and then rivals Chalvey Sports this Saturday as preparations continue for the new Hellenic Premier Division season.

Holyport went to Sandhurst Town and suffered a 3-1 loss with Daniel Rapley scoring the consolation goal on Saturday.

Port welcome Ascot United to Summerleaze on Thursday (7.45pm), before a trip to Chalfont Wasps this Saturday (3pm).
