DATCHET made it five straight wins in Division One of the Home Counties Premier Cricket League with a 41-run victory over High Wycombe on Saturday.

The visitors to The Wally Gage Memorial Ground won the coin toss and elected to field first, with Datchet reaching 211 runs all out from 49.1 overs.

Number five Joseph Thomas top-scored with 52 runs from 81 balls, with six boundaries and one maximum hit.

Jonty Jenner, batting at number four, made 47 from 64, and he and Thomas added 60 runs for the fourth wicket.

Number eight Oliver Birts hit 30 runs from 48 balls, with two boundaries and one maximum. He and Thomas pushed the score on from 130-6 to 203-7 in a seventh wicket partnership worth 73 runs.

Cameron Parsons was the pick of the High Wycombe bowlers with his figures of 3-37 from 10 overs, which included the wickets of both opening batsman, Joe Barrett (7) and Steven Naylor (18).

Conner Haddow claimed the wickets of Thomas and Birts in his 3-49 from 10 overs, while Adam Dobb caught and bowled Jenner in his 2-27 from 10 overs.

The visitors managed 170 runs all out from 42.3 overs in response to suffer a second defeat in five matches this season, which leaves them in fourth position in the league table.

Number six George Russell was the top scorer with 62 runs from 49 balls, with eight boundaries and two maximum hits.

Matthew Gouldstone, batting at number five, made 39 from 92, and he and Russell added 82 runs for the fifth wicket.

The win means Datchet have maintained their perfect start to the new season and continue to set the pace with defending champions, Henley.
