BOYNE Hill 2s have suffered back-to-back defeats in Division 3a of the Thames Valley Cricket League this season after a 65-run loss to Purley-on-Thames on Saturday.

had been beaten at Binfield the week before and this most recent defeat leaves them in fourth position in the league table.

Batting first, Purley set a target of 284-8 from 45 overs, before the home side managed 219-9 in response.

Boyne Hill 2s make the trip to Farnham Royal this Saturday (1pm).

The Royals

recorded their first win of the season when beating Slough 3s by 41 runs last weekend.

Farnham chose to bat first at Upton Court Park and reached 152 runs all out from 44.4 overs, before their hosts were bowled out for 111 from 23 overs.

The defeat means Slough 3s have dropped one place to sixth position in the league table ahead of a trip across Berkshire to Wokingham 2s this Saturday.

Wraysbury have maintained their perfect start to the new season in Division 3b following a 148-run home win against Burnham 2s last weekend.

Wraysbury won the coin toss and elected to bat first, reaching 332-7 from 45 overs.

Number seven Waqar Afridi top-scored with an unbeaten 148 runs, while Jayesh Mohan made 96 and Waqas Khan 25.

Shabbir Ali was the pick of the Burnham bowlers with his figures of 2-46 from eight overs. He was supported by Adnan Shabir with 2-69 from nine overs.

The visitors managed 184 runs all out from 42 overs in response to suffer a third defeat in four matches this season and drop one place to eight position in the table.

Number six Nasir Baig top-scored with 43 runs while opener Tassawar Nawaz made 31 and Imran Aslam 27.

Arjun Reddy was the destroyer-ini-chief for Wraysbury with his figures of 5-38 from 10 overs, including the wickets of Baig and Islam.

Arslan Yassen took the wickets of Nawaz and Asim Zaka (22) in his 2-66 from 10 overs.

Burnham 2s welcome Datchet 2s to The Memorial Ground this Saturday. Datchet make the trip following their six-wicket home win against Old Merchant Taylors last weekend.
