SLOUGH 3s retuned to winning form in Division 3a of the Thames Valley Cricket League after a two-wicket victory at Purley-on-Thames on Saturday.

Purley won the coin toss and elected to bat first at The Goosecroft Ground, reaching 186 runs all out from 38.4 overs.

Opening batsman Patrick Allen top-scored with 56 runs before he was trapped leg before wicket by Ali Baig.

Tom Bale made 10 and the pair put on 67 runs for the first wicket.

George Clarke, batting at number nine, added 22, Sam Corbett 18 and George Wheeler 16.

bowlers with his figures of 4-40 from 10 overs, which includes the wicket of captain Andrew Clarke for 11.

Baig was backed up by Aizaz Ahmed (2-18 from five overs) and Yash Lakhani (2-46 from nine overs).

Slough managed 190-8 from 37.4 overs to secure the win and move up to fourth position in the league table.

Srivatsan SG, batting at number eight, was the top scorer with 37 runs, while Vishal Nair made 35 and Rehan Ahmed 28.

Rahu Thava was the pick of the seven bowlers Purley used with his figures of 4-35 from 10 overs, which included the wickets of Nair, Ahmed and captain Sami Kazim for 25.

Will Legg made 31 from 36 balls and the pair put on 87 runs for the first wicket, before Craig Beales added 35 and Anthony Clapham 37.

Jack Barton was the pick of the Farnham bowlers with his figures of 3-53 from eight overs, which included the wickets of Green and Clapham.

Eshwar Dutta claimed the wickets of Legg and Beales in his 3-72 from 10 overs, while Harry Barton took the other wicket in his 1-59.

The visitors reached 205-5 from 45 overs in response to suffer a third consecutive defeat this season.

Number three Dutta top-scored with 82 runs from 87 balls including 12 boundaries. He and opening batsman Nigel Field (28) put on 63 runs for the second wicket.

Captain Matt Shave made 43 at a run a ball and added 94 runs in a third-wicket partnership with Dutta.

John McDonald was the best of the Wokingham bowlers with his figures of 3-15 from nine overs, which included the wickets of Dutta and Field. Callum Creighton claimed 1-31.
