HOLYPORT extended their unbeaten run in Hellenic Division One East to five matches after a 1-1 draw at Woodley United on Saturday.

A second-half strike from Freddie Barron secured Woodley a point in their final home league game of the season.

It was a fourth meeting between the two teams this season excluding the abandoned home league fixture back in December.

Port striker Fabian Driffill opened the scoring with a 25-yard strike after 14 minutes.

He was unfortunate not to add a second when Adam Barnard cleared a shot off the line after he had rounded keeper Tom Bryant.

Barron equalised for Woodley in the 59th minute as good play from Max Laschok found Pablo Fernandez, who in turn put Barron through to evade a challenge and shoot past Jack Quelch.

Harrison Moore was introduced as a substitute after 69 minutes and his first task was to clear the ball off the United line following a goalmouth scramble after a Holyport free-kick.

The draw means Port stand in fifth position in the table ahead of a visit to Summerleaze from Wallingford Town this Saturday (3pm).

Holyport then turn their attention to the Hellenic Subsidiary Cup and a semi-finals tie at home to rivals Burnham next Tuesday (7.45pm).

Burnham did not have a fixture to fulfill last weekend but require just one point from their remaining two matches to clinch the title.

The Blues travel to fourth-placed Didcot Town Development this Saturday (3pm).

Chalvey Sports saw their match against AFC Aldermaston at Arbour Park in midweek abandoned after 65 minutes following a serious knee injury to an Aldermaston player.
