CROWTHORNE’S Washindi Trampoline Club hosted their annual British Gymnastics Club Development competition recently.

The club’s best up and coming youngsters took part in the top level out of three.

Sammy Britz, competing in the category for those born between 2004-06, performed her new routine to secure second place.

Washindi claimed all three podium places in the 2008-12 age group, with Martha Splain winning gold, Maddi Hayes silver and Rebecca Fossett bronze ahead of team-mates Daniella Fossett (4th), Polly Martin (5th) and Mia Gandy (6th).

In the disability category, Matthew Morris landed the gold medal ahead of Madiba Elhaggagi in second place.

Meanwhile, Washindi gained 12 podium places at the second regional team qualifier in Eastleigh with 31 gymnasts progressing through to the finals.

In the girls’ section, Charlotte Morris (NDP 2, 9-10) clinched third place ahead of Mia Gardener in fourth.

Emily Farrell placed fourth in NDP 3, 11-12 girls category and has now secured two qualifying scored after narrowly missing out a year ago.

Seren Duggan claimed second place and Nia Slatter third, both in the NDP 5, 11-12 category, and there was another gold medal for both Lauren Nield (NDP 6, 11-14) and Lydia Osborn (NDP 6, 15+).

In the boys’ section, Owen Whittall (NDP 5, 11-12) won the gold medal.

Ewan Bolt (NDP 4, 11-12) landed gold with Fred Martin (NDP 2, 11-12) taking bronze. Alex Phojola (NDP 4, 13+) also won bronze.

Meanwhile in the Trampoline for Persons with Disabilities category, Marsha Danilova, Thomas Hue and Russell Cooper all landed gold medals.
