FC CIPPENHAM Sharks edged Red Kore 2-1 to win the Thames Valley Football Development League Under-11 Trophy final but the result was in doubt right until the final whistle on Sunday.

Red Kore began well and scored with their very first attack to take the lead.

Cippenham however gradually began to take control of the middle of the pitch as a good shot from Mackenzie Sears was saved and several others went wide of the posts.

The Sharks were not to be denied however and they equalised through a well-hit shot from James Jasinski.

Both teams had chances to score in the second half but it was Cippenham that ended up with the critical second goal, Sears putting the ball into the back of the net.

Red Kore pushed hard for an equaliser right until the end but it was Cippenham that lifted the Trophy.

Maidenhead Warriors beat Boyne Hill Bullets 5-2 in an U10 Development match.

The Warriors pressured the Boyne Hill defence right from the off and were soon in the lead thanks to a Yusuf Ali goal.

The Bullets equalised quickly but Maidenhead took the lead again through a long range shot from Toby Wheeler and then scored a third goal minutes later.

Boyne Hill countered with a second goal late on in the first half to keep the match finely balanced at 3-2.

Both sides tightened up defensively in the second half and the scoring rate dropped markedly.

Maidenhead scored two further goals to put the result beyond question, the second of them from Lucas Dolphin.

FC Cippenham Wolves beat Burnham Junior Leopards Blue 2-1 in a very close match at U12 level.

Burnham started strongly and went ahead after 10 minutes.

They were unlucky not to add a second 10 minutes later but the Cippenham keeper pulled off a brave save, diving at the feet of the onrushing forward. Unfortunately he injured himself in the process and had to be taken off.

Cippenham regrouped in the second half and began to create chances of their own. The pressure paid off eventually and they equalised through Zack Mason.

The Wolves continued to press and were unlucky when a thunderous shot hit the crossbar.

Their hard work paid off when Aaron Whitehead was brought down just outside the box and Freddie Hibbert scored direct from the free-kick.

FC Cippenham Rhinos U13s had a convincing 5-0 win away at Golden Eagles while Windsor Royals Youth drew 3-3 win Slough Town Junior.
