FIVE members from Maidenhead Athletics Club travelled to the capital to take part in the London Winter Run.

The route took runners down The Strand, past the Bank of England, across the Holborn Viaduct and around St Paul’s Cathedral.

Quizmaster Sam Gillespie was first home for the club and grabbed himself a new Personal Best, over a minute and a half faster than his previous one and three minutes and 36 seconds (3.36) quicker than in the same race last year.

Gillespie finished in 48.58, while both Sarah Fogg (54.52) and Lynsey Flitton (01:01.45) ran good races despite picking up foot injuries en route.
