THE freezing weather caused most matches in the Thames Valley Football Development League to be postponed on Sunday.
One of the very few to go ahead was the Under-10 game between Maidenhead Warriors and Delaford Colts Blues.
Maidenhead attacked from the first whistle and some good link-up play resulted in chances created, but all the shots went wide of the goal.
Delaford withstood the early pressure and proved highly effective in the counter-attack to score four goals on the break, with the Warriors only managing a single goal in response.
Their goal came right on the brink of half-time as Robert Hern scored scored from close range after a dribbling run into the box.
Maidenhead enjoyed plenty of possession in the second-half but Delaford countered with quick attacks that stretched the Warriors defence. Their accurate shooting garnered a further goal goals, before a late consolation effort from Rafay Rashid.
