MAURITZ Glazener bagged a brace as South Berkshire men won for the first time in nine MBBO Regional Two games with a 4-1 home victory against Reading 4ths, writes Richard Ashton.

Tom King and Daniel Ray were also on the scoresheet for the hosts, with Chris Armitage netting Reading's consolation.

The victory lifts third-bottom South Berkshire six points clear of Wycombe 2nds, ahead of a trip to their relegation rivals this coming Saturday (2.30pm).

In MBBO Division Two, South Berkshire 2nds dropped to seventh following a disappointing 4-3 reverse at Abingdon.

Jack Baveystock, Josh Chapman and Joseph Hayes were all on target for the visitors, but a double from Hugo Audley-Miller and goals from Will Trigg and Chris Way ensured Abingdon claimed all three points.

In-form Tom Scott bagged a brace for South Berkshire 3rds – taking his tally to 18 for the season – but it was not enough for the home side as they went down 3-2 to Sonning 3rds in Division Three.

Joe Nightingale netted twice for Sonning, with their other goal coming from Christopher Roberts.

Third-placed South Berkshire 4ths moved level on points with Bicester 3rds after squeezing past Phoenix & Ranelagh 3rds in Division Eight West.

There was less success for South Berkshire Terriers, who went down 3-1 at home to Reading Rovers.

South Berkshire ladies climbed to fourth place in Premier Division One of the Trysports Three Counties League after they drew 1-1 at home to Newbury & Thatcham.

South Berkshire visit second-placed Oxford 2nds this coming Saturday.

In Division One, table-toppers South Berkshire 2nds were made to battle hard by basement side Reading Riots, but they eventually ground out a 2-1 victory.

An Emily Whybrow double and goals from Holly Bentley and Sandra Doddington fired Division Three leaders South Berkshire 3rds to a convincing 4-0 victory against Bicester 2nds, leaving them 10 points clear at the summit.

South Berkshire 4ths were beaten 2-1 at home by Scarlet Runners in Division Four.
