THE closest match in the Maidenhead District Netball League Premier Division saw Sevens and Phoenix Pinkz battle it out at Kidwells Park on Monday.

Phoenix led 18-14 at the half-time interval thanks to some key interceptions but, some precise shooting from Morgan Daley saw Sevens mount a phenomenal comeback in the fourth quarter to eventually win the game 33-31.

Over on court two, Mavericks played Business Moves in another close encounter.

Mavericks held onto the coat-tails of Business Moves throughout the first-half but consistently trailed by one centre pass. Business Moves put their foot down in the fourth quarter to pull ahead with a significant advantage and win the game 39-33.

Windsor remain top of the table after after a 43-30 victory against B52s.

Bottom-of-the-table Scotch gave Blue Swifts a scare but the runners-up from last season opened up the goal difference in the third quarter to secure a 35-26 win.

Woodley remain top in Division Two following their 38-33 victory over Phoenix. The league leaders took an early lead which increased steadily through the duration of the game.

Black Magic moved into second position in the table after securing another five points, their eighth win of the season.

Black Magic finished the first quarter with a two-goal advantage however impressive play from Sparks saw the tables turn in the second period with them leading 15-9 at the half-time interval.

Their opponents fought back hard in the third quarter to narrow the gap to just a single goal. This determination continued in the final moments of the game, resulting in a 29-24 win.

Redbacks produced a dominating performance in their match to beat Eclipse 40-23.

The fixtures in divisions two, three and four this week were postponed due to the adverse weather.
