A COMBINATION of the Slough Half Marathon and wet weather meant that there were very few matches played in the Thames Valley Football Development League on Sunday.

One match that did go ahead was the Under-10 (U10) game between Boyne Hill Bullets and Maidenhead Warriors on the astroturf at Furze Platt Senior School.

Despite the wet weather, both teams managed to play some creative and flowing football.

Langley FC Youth U14 Reds have progressed into round three of the Berks & Bucks Minor Cup after an 8-1 win against Chalfont Saints.

Both Joseph Andrei and Fope scored a hat-trick in the victory, with further goals from George Rathmill and Sean Macey.

The U14 Whites also reached round three following their 3-2 win on penalties against Thames Valley Youth after the two sides drew 4-4 in normal time.

Langley opened up a clear lead early on thanks to goals from Billy Doe and David Ceberek.

Thames Valley pulled a goal back before Ben Johnston struck to give Langley a two-goal advantage heading into the break.

Thames Valley scored the next three goals to lead 4-3 with just seven minutes remaining, but Langley managed a late equaliser before going on to win the shoot-out.
