WINDSOR have suffered a first defeat in five matches in the Hellenic Premier Division after a 2-1 loss at Royal Wootton Bassett Town on Saturday.

Goals from TJ Bohane and Giorgio Wrona gave Wootton Bassett a clear lead heading into the break at the New Gerard Buxton Sports Ground.

Malachi Thomas pulled one back for Windsor after the break but it was not enough to avoid a first league defeat since the opening day of the season.

The loss means Windsor now stand in sixth position in the league table ahead of a trip to Tuffley Rovers this Saturday (3pm).

Newly-promoted Virginia Water and table toppers Wantage Town shared the points after a 2-2 draw at Stag Meadow.

A goal from Liam Whyte within 45 seconds of the game start gave the Waters the lead, before Steve Robertson equalised for the visitors.

The home team lead at the break thanks to a strike by Josh Hill, but Robertson levelled again for Wantage in the second half.

The draw means Virginia Water are now in 14th position in the league table ahead of a visit to Stag Meadow from Royal Wootton Bassett on Tuesday 11th September (7.45pm).

Holyport have made progress in the FA Vase after a 4-1 win in the first qualifying round away at Ardley United.

Louis Joyce scored for Premier Division Ardley after two minutes at The Playing Fields but Port hit back with four goals.

Fabian Driffill bagged a hat-trick while Alan Ackerman was also on target for the Division One East club.

Holyport return to league action with a visit to Summerleaze from Milton United on Tuesday (7.45pm), before a trip to Penn & Tylers Green this Saturday (3pm).
