COOKHAM Dean made it back-to-back wins in Division One after an eight-wicket victory away at rivals North Maidenhead on Saturday.

North Maidenhead won the coin toss and elected to bat first at Summerleaze but were bowled out for just 52 runs in 22.1 overs.

Number nine Mirban Saleem top-scored with 16 runs but only Faaez Shamsi (13) could also reach double figures as Sahan Nanayakkare ripped through the batting line-up.

The Cookham overseas star returned figures of 8-26 from 11.1 overs which included the wickets of Shafiq Khan, captain Majid Khan and Amir Asghar for ducks.

For Nanayakkare it is a fifth five-wicket-haul this season and takes his total to 58 at an impressive average of 10.69.

The visitors reached 54-2 off 9.5 overs in response and for their 10th win from 14 league matches this season.

Number three Christy Green finished unbeaten with 26 runs and Patrick Castleden made 16 while opening the batting.

Usman Ilyas was the best of the three North Maidenhead bowlers used with figures of 1-14 from 2.5 overs. The other wicket fell to Sahaan John (1-24).

The win means Cookham Dean remain at the top of the table and 23 points clear of Cove in second place ahead of a visit to Ricketts Field from Gerrards Cross this Saturday (12.30pm start).

North Maidenhead have dropped one place to eighth position and now just six points above the two relegation spots ahead of the short trip to Boyne Hill on Saturday.

Stoke Green suffered a first defeat in seven league matches following their 78-run loss at home to bottom side Reading last weekend.

Reading won the toss and chose to bat first, the visitors reaching 266-6 off 52 overs.

Number five Sukhi Kang carried his bat through for an unbeaten 104 runs from 132 balls, which included 10 boundaries and six maximums.

Sanjit Jheeta made 50 runs at number seven before he was ran out by Pavinder Bhachu, while Curran Gaur made 33 and opener Qasim Ali 25.

The wickets were shared amongst the Stoke Green bowlers with Gagan Singh fairing best with 2-43 from nine overs.

Zulfi Butt claimed Gaur in his 2-58 and the other wicket fell to Raja Ifraz Khan (1-50).

The home side were bowled out for 188 runs off 43.3 overs in response to suffer just their fourth defeat of the summer.

Number three Luqman Butt top-scored with 55 runs from 76 balls. His third half-century this season included 10 boundaries and one maximum.

Karanpreet Singh made 29, opener Dan Simpson 26 and Saqlain Basharat 22.

Max Uttley was the best of the three Reading bowlers with his figures of 6-64, which included the wickets of Butt and Irham Mughal for a duck.

The defeat means Stoke Green have dropped one place to fourth position in the league table ahead of a trip to second bottom Henley 2s this Saturday.
