WINDSOR got the Hellenic Premier Division season under way with a 3-1 defeat away at Brimscombe & Thrupp on Saturday.

The visitors took the lead at The Meadow when summer signing Dan Roberts scored from a Jeevan Panesar free-kick on 18 minutes.

Sam Blackie equalised just two minutes later and scored again moments before the half-time interval to put Brimscombe ahead.

The home team hit the post after the break and were awarded a penalty in the 78th minute when Andrew Ingram fouled Edward Major inside the box.

A Caldwell scored from the resulting spot-kick to secure all three points for Brimscombe.

Windsor welcome Shrivenham to Stag Meadow in their first home league match on Tuesday (7.45pm).

The club then host Southern League Division One West club Highworth Town in the FA Cup extra preliminary round this Saturday (3pm).

Virginia Water get their season in the Hellenic Premier under way with a trip to Flackwell Heath on Tuesday (7.45pm).

Burnham began life in Division One East with a 4-2 win against rivals Holyport at The Gore on Saturday.

A goal from Fabian Driffill gave Port the lead before the Blues equalised from the penalty spot.

Driffill then scored again for the visitors and Steven Deverall was unfortunate to see his shot come back off the post.

Burnham bagged three more goals to secure the points and two of the four came from United Select product, Lucas Sinclair.

Both sides turn their attention to the extra preliminary round of the FA Cup this Saturday as Burnham travel to Abingdon United, while Holyport host Brimscombe & Thrupp at Summerleaze.

In Division One East, Chalvey Sports get their campaign up a running with a visit to Arbour Park from Penn & Tylers Green this Saturday (3pm).
