WINDSOR, Slough, Eton & Hounslow (WSEH) Athletics Club totally dominated the third match in Southern League Division One on Sunday.

The club won at the Thames Valley Athletics Centre with 252 points, some 80 points ahead of Belgrave Harries in second while Reading completed the podium positions.

In the 34-event programme, WSEH provided 43 individual winners, with A and B winners in 17 discipline to deliver maximum points.

The sprinters were on top form showing clean pairs of heels to their opponents in the 100m races via the efforts of Aaron Richardson with 11.07 seconds (secs), Reiss Durban-Davison (11.17secs), Lukesha Morris (12.10secs) and Harriet Jones (12.21secs).

In the 200m the winners were 16-year-old Josh Pearson (22.48secs), Richard King (22.6secs), Jessica Armah (24.86secs) and Jatila Reavill-Blake (25.25secs).

The winning sequence continued in the 400m with Rory Graham-Watson taking the honours with 49.76secs. Dereece Green was first across the line in the B race in a personal best (PB) of 50.42secs.

The best of the distance results came from the ladies with Dani Barnes-Heaney (10:06.52) and newcomer Rebecca Curtis-Wall (11:30.44) grabbing the honours in the 3,000m.

That was repeated by Alice Flint (7:25.07) and Isabelle Rayner (8:27.66) in the 2,000 steeplechase.

The ladies hurdles races were also dominated by WSEH with Shona Richards winning the 400m hurdles in 62.94secs. Flint added to the points with victory in the B race in 64.71secs.

This double success was repeated by Steph Clitheroe (14.0secs) and Lara Pleace (15.31secs) in the 100m hurdles.

The throwing events added significantly to the points tally and perhaps the most impressive win came from Ruben Banks, aged 16, who was not long back from college in the USA.

He threw the senior hammer an outstanding 47.99m, with Iain Botting winning the B string with a PB of 42.56m.

The ladies followed suit with Amy Herrington winning on 50.91m and veteran Janet Smith taking the B string with 33.94m.

Double success continued in the javelin with Hannah Johnson delivering the goods with 45.95m, with Abigail Jones taking the B-string on 31.81m. Jude Compton-Stewart was the men’s javelin victor with his 53.44m.

More maximum points resulted from the shot event with Vytas Druktenis winning the A string on 13.29m and Adam Carpenter the B event with his 11.81m.

Carpenter also led the way in the discus with his throw of 37.83m, as did Amy Holder in the ladies event with her superb 54.33m.

The jump events saw WSEH athletes also in top form. More maximum points were delivered in the pole vault from Euan Bryden (PB 4.80m) and veteran Chris Mills (3.80m).

WSEH athletes will compete in the British Championships and European Trials in Birmingham this weekend, while their young athletes have a crucial third match in the under-17/20 Youth Development League series in Eton on Sunday.

Top points also accrued in the triple jump via newcomer Paulius Svarauskas (14.42m) and Kam Cheung-Lambert (PB 12.08m).

The ladies jumps events were similarly dominated by WSEH. Another newcomer, Sofija Korf, won the long jump with 5.61m, with double points arising from the B string win of Hannah Jones on 5.56m.

Jones was back in action in the triple jump taking the B string with 10.22m behind the winning A string mark of Klaudia Walas on 11.26m.

Rachel Melbourne tied for first place in the high jump on 1.55m.

WSEH crowned a highly successful day with victories in all the 4x100m and 4x400m relays.
