WHITE Waltham recorded their third away win this season after a narrow one-wicket victory away at Reading 2s on Saturday.

Reading won the toss and elected to bat first, the home team reaching 226-7 off 52 overs.

Opening batsman Michael Griesel and Rahul Bharti top-scored with 57 and 47 runs respectively, before number seven Dani Katuri made 24 and Nat Narayanasamy 23 batting at eight.

Akhil Kamath was the best of the White Waltham bowlers with figures of 2-41 from 10 overs.

He was supported by Rahul Mohindru with 2-67, while other wickets fell to Dan Molloy (1-31) and Max Ring (1-43).

The visitors reached 229-9 off 45.5 overs in response and for the victory which leaves them in sixth position in the league table.

Captain Molloy carried his bat for an unbeaten 100 from 104 balls and at a strike rate of 96.15. It was his first century of the season and included 16 boundaries.

Molloy put 54 runs with Ring (22) for the sixth wicket, after Simon Jessup made 28 batting at the top of the order.

Narayanasamy was the pick of the Reading bowlers with figures of 4-67 from 14 overs, which included the wickets of Jessup and Ring.

Katuri backed him up with 4-85 from 20.5 overs while the other wicket fell to Pritesh Benawra (1-32).

White Waltham welcome fourth placed Theale & Tilehurst this Saturday (1pm), before rivals Binfield visit on June 30.
