WINDSOR are out to bowl over their opposition and win the Thames Valley League Division 2A title this season.

The Home Park-based club suffered relegation from Division One last summer but new first team captain Kristan Baumgartner has backed his side to go the distance this time around.

He told the Observer: “We definitely want to win the league and beating Chesham last weekend showed that we’re strong enough to beat anyone on our day.

“Our training and energy around the place is good at the moment, and everyone wants to play first team cricket, so we’re in a good position.

“I definitely believe we can move up the table and compete for the title towards the end.”

Windsor welcome Maidenhead & Bray to Home Park this Saturday and Baumgartner hopes his role as captain will continue to be made easy with another strong performance.

He said: “Looking at their results I would back us to win. We’ve beaten the bottom sides and things have been smooth at the moment, so hopefully that can continue.”
