MAIDENHEAD have seen their three-match winning streak in the South West Premier come to an end after a 44-33 defeat away at Cleve on Saturday.

The visitors trailed 25-0 at the half-time interval after Cleeve scored three tries plus two conversions and two penalties.

Maidenhead fell 32-0 behind early on in the second half before a fight back saw them score 19 points to reduce the deficit.

Hooker Mark Darlington went over and centre Ryan Long converted, before full-back Jaryd Robinson scored one of two more tries.

Cleeve secured the win with two more tries but there was still time for flanker Will Cadden to touch down twice for the losing bonus point.

Maidenhead go into the Christmas break in fourth position in the league table and four points behind second-placed Newton Abbot.
