HARRY Pritchard is looking forward to playing in the National League with Maidenhead United next season after agreeing a new one-year deal with the club.

Pritchard, 24, put pen to paper after helping Maidenhead to the National League South title and he insists the club has everything you could want as a player.

“There’s a real togetherness with the fans and chairman so it’s just a great family club,” he told the Observer.

“You know what you’re going to get when you turn up. There are going to be end-to-end games and goals galore, and I just think it’s a great club to be a part of.

“You always see the National League on BT Sport. It’s a tough division with some ex-Football League clubs, but I always look forward to a new challenge and think we will go in with a strong mindset.”

Pritchard is one of eight players who have already committed their future to the club, including record goalscorer Dave Tarpey, and first team coach Sam Lock explained The Magpies will look to build on that togetherness next season.

He said: “There’s a reason why we’ve done so well this year and it’s important to try to keep a lot of the squad together.

“Obviously, going into a more difficult league with teams with bigger budgets and better players, you will need a bigger squad and we will probably add a few bodies.

“But at the moment, it’s all about enjoying the occasion. That is important for the fans, staff and players.

“We’ve got a great nucleus of players but we will need four or five bodies to come into the squad because there are so many games, and if you do well in the cups you are looking at a lot more.

“There needs to be changes but, at the end of the day, we’ve got a manager that’s very experienced and knows exactly what he’s doing.”
