STAR Striker Nikke Kabamba bagged a five-goal haul as Burnham FC thrashed Bideford 5-1 at The Gore on Tuesday evening.

Blues boss Gary Meakin last week challenged his side to turn good recent performances into points after just one win in five matches.

And Kabamba answered those calls by putting Bideford to the sword, netting a first-half hat-rick in the opening 10 minutes.

He made it 4-0 before the break, and then added a fifth five minutes into the second period.

The visiting side did not get going until it was too late, but they did manage to salvage some pride when Nick Thompson netted on 77 minutes.

The win moves Burnham up into 17th position in the Southern Premier Division. They go to St. Neots Town this Saturday (3pm ko).

Maidenhead United made progress in the Berks & Bucks Senior Cup after a 4-0 win at Didcot Town.

Tashan Adeyinka gave the visiting side a lead on 15 minutes, and it remained that way until half-time.

The Conference South club secured the first round tie as Danny Green on 79 and 80 minutes.

Substitute Jonathan Hippolyte added a fourth Maids goal five minutes from the final whistle.

Maidenhead return to league action this Saturday away at Whitehawk (3pm).

Holyport are now eight games without a win in all competitions following a 2-0 defeat at Ascot United.

The home side took the lead inside two minutes at The Racecourse as Leon Yarnie drilled low past keeper Shaun Coker.

Jermaine Roche doubled the advantage before half-time, poking the ball home from a corner.

The loss leaves Holyport in 19th position in the Hellenic Premier Division. They host Kidlington this Saturday (3pm).
