The BBC has changed its TV schedule for today (Monday, September 12) in order to accommodate coverage of the Queen's vigil.

Major additions will come in the form of Scotland: A Service for HM the Queen, which will begin at 1pm on BBC One and last until 6:05pm.

Huw Edwards will present the programme, which will show live coverage of the coffin procession from the Palace of Holyroodhouse to St Giles' Cathedral for a Service of Reflection and Thanksgiving.

King Charles and other senior members of the royal family will walk in the procession.

Also at 7:15pm there will be the addition of Scotland: The Vigil where King Charles and royal family members will hold a vigil in personal tribute to the late Queen.

Following that The One Show will air at 8pm, running a special tribute called The One Show: Our Queen Remembered.

At 8:30pm there will be EastEnders, followed by The Capture at 9pm, BBC News at Ten (at 10:10pm), My Government and I at 11:20pm, and finally BBC News at 12:20am.

On Thursday, September 8 Queen Elizabeth II passed away at the age of 96, having reigned as monarch for 70 years.

The nation is now in a period of mourning, with her funeral scheduled for Monday, September 19, which will be a bank holiday.
