A GROUP of colleagues successfully completed a gruelling 24 hour challenge as a team - and it was harder than they expected.

The team of seven who work for Marc Daniels, a recruitment firm in Maidenhead, took on the Three Peaks challenge, climbing three mountains in just 24 hours, raising more than £2,300 for two charities.

Marc Chapple, director of Marc Daniels who took part in the challenge, said: “We thought we had prepared for the challenge, but after getting to the snowy top of Ben Nevis and realising we had to do that again twice more without any proper sleep, we realised how hard this was going to be.

"The only thing that got us through was thinking of the charities we were doing this for; that and being with our great team of colleagues.”

A team of seven employees including, directors, recruitment consultants and admin staff took on the challenge – with great results. The challenge was taken on to specifically raise funds for the company's two charity partners Make-A-Wish® UK and Thames Hospice.

After a flight to Glasgow the team started climbing Ben Nevis in Scotland kicking off the 24 hour countdown. In that time they had to ascend and descend Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike in the Lake District and Snowdon in North Wales.
