A Mediterranean restaurant in Clitheroe has closed down, with many customers expressing their sadness.

Vista Cielo, on Ethos House York Street, hosted a free ‘farewell banquet’ on Saturday (March 23) and owner Mehmet Ali Haciarifoglu said the decision was made with a “heavy heart”.

He said:  “We want to thank our loyal customers for the love we have received since our grand opening on October 30, 2020.

“We were blessed [to operate in] the best town in Lancashire, Clitheroe, and were welcomed with open arms and warm hearts.

“Vista Cielo has earned a great reputation, and our team has done everything far beyond expectations.

“With a very heavy heart, we have now come to an end to this journey. We are excited to see what the future will bring for all of us.”

Customers have left memories and messages about their time at the restaurant and many are sad to see it close.

One person said: “We are so sorry to hear this news. We’ve loved visiting Vista Cielo and it’s a big loss to Clitheroe.

“Wishing you lots of luck, health and happiness in whatever your next adventure is. Thanks for helping us create some very special memories.”

A second commenter said: “Loved it every time we’ve been, you were our go-to place for a meal out. Staff have been excellent. You will be missed and hope to be there Saturday!”

“Really sad that you are closing,” said another. “Had some fantastic meals there. All the staff have always been so friendly and welcoming, providing great service.”
