Plans have gone in for a new Turkish restaurant to open on Burnham High Street.

What was once Calla Maison, a hairdresser at 89 High Street, could become a restaurant called Yakamoz Turkish Cuisine Meze Bar And Grill in plans submitted to Buckinghamshire Council on March 6.

The proposed plans include the installation of an extraction system at the rear and advertisement consent for the fascia sign at the front.

The sign would not be lit and would use yellow writing on a black background. Special consideration has been given to the impact of the proposed development on the character and appearance of the building.

It is noted: "The proposed duct extraction is tucked away at the rear of the property in the corner hidden from sight. The ducting system has been carefully designed to minimise the noise created."

Systems to reduce odours spreading out of the premises have also been proposed.

The owner of the MG Barbers next door at 87 High Street, Mr Ali Gurkan Sunna, has commented on the plans: "I would like to say that I'm happy with the way planning was done and have nothing to add to it they have done an amazing job."

Buckinghamshire Council are yet to have their say on the plans.
