The council has approved plans to turn a historic hotel into flats.

Last year plans were submitted to Slough Borough Council to transform Upton Park Hotel into flats with a request for an extension.

The proposal outlined plans for a renovation and rear three-storey extension with an associated ancillary outbuilding, car park and landscaping.

The property, at 39 Upton Park, dates back to the 1840s and has been used as a hotel since 1985, boasting 30 rooms adjacent to open green space.

Last week Slough Borough Council approved the plans, with the hotel now to be carved up and turned into 10 residential flats.

The conversion will involve converting hotel rooms to provide six studio apartments and four one-bedroom flats.

Under the plans, 13 parking spaces will be added across the front and rear of the property.
