A nightclub in Windsor is hoping to keep the party going until later at night.

Vik Maharaj, the operator of The Boom Bar in the town centre wants to keep the club open until 3am at night throughout the year.

The venue is currently open from 9pm to 2am on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. Now, Mr Maharaj has applied for The Boom to stay open until 3am Thursday to Sunday.

As well as opening on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, The Boom re-introduced Sunday night openings this month.

Mr Maharaj also wants to convert the unused kitchen at the club into an extra bar for customers to get their drinks.

He has additionally applied for the bar to stay open until 3am on Christmas Eve and later on New Year’s Eve.

For dance performances, he has applied for an additional hour for the Summertime clock change and bank holidays. Dance performances currently have to end at 1.30am at the latest.

Explaining the changes, Mr Maharaj said: "One of the reasons for the application is that there is a boundary where we are not allowed to sell alcohol and hold activities, which is at that kitchen area.

"The application would allow us to effectively remove that boundary so that customers can be served there.

"We have consulted with the environmental health authorities and the fire department to make sure they are happy with that, and along with that we've applied to extend the hours."

The changes have been submitted in a licensing application to the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead. You can view and comment on the application by typing reference 24/106992/LAPL05 into the Royal Borough's planning and licensing portal.

The deadline for representations is Thursday, March 21.
