A Grade II listed pub which closed shortly after the pandemic has been spotted with a new sign.

The Rose and Crown closed as a public house in 2021 after being a favourite to many locals in the community for decades.

It has since operated as a cocktail bar and Romanian restaurant run by Family Place until the tail end of 2023.

Situated on Slough High Street at the junction with Wexham Road, the pub has been seen with a banner reading "Desi Bite. Pakistani restaurant opening soon."

Slough, Windsor and Maidenhead's Campaign for Real Ale have stated on their site: "This small pub, at the quiet end of the High Street is being refurbished to become a Pakistani Restaurant."

The Rose and Crown building has been a staple on the High Street which has largely remained unchanged.

In 2021 Slough Borough Council gave permission to transform the upstairs into a two-bedroom flat and for new ventilation to be added to the kitchen.
