Those driving through Slough will have seven road closures to avoid over the next month.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that these five closures are expected to carry on over January:

• M4 till 6 am January 13, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M4 both directions, junction 5, slip road and lane closures for inspection work.

• M4 till 6 am January 27, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M4 both directions, junction 6 to junction 8/9, Lane closures for M4 Smart Motorways.

• M4 till 6 am January 31, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M4 eastbound, junction 6, slip road closure for M4 Smart Motorways.

• M4 till 6 am January 31, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M4 eastbound, junction 5, Lane closures for M4 Smart Motorways.

• M4 till 6 am February 4, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M4 both directions, junction 6 to junction 8/9, Lane closures for M4 Smart Motorways.

And a further two closures will begin over the next two weeks:

• M4 from 8 pm January 2 to 6 am January 3, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M4 eastbound, junction 6 to junction 5, Lane closure for barrier repairs.

• M4 from 8 pm January 4 to 5 am January 5, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M4 eastbound, junction 7, slip road and lane closure for barrier work.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
