A major overhaul of one of Slough's busiest roads including reduced speed limits and better cycle lanes has been revealed.

Newly released images offer a first look at designs for proposed improvement to the Farnham Road.

Slough Borough Council has invited residents and businesses to share their views on the plans, which would include a reduced speed limit, a two-way off-road cycle route, upgraded footways and street lighting.

Slough Borough Council transport lead councillor Paul Kelly said: “This is a scheme which could transform Farnham Road and the surrounding roads, making the area better for residents, businesses, visitors and all road users.

“We consulted last year on the vision for the scheme and now we would like your input into the proposed design.”

There would also be improvements to the small park and changes to the car park at the junction of Sheffield Road.

The scheme was made possible following a successful bid for government levelling up funding after putting forward a business case for the works.

Slough Borough Council is seeking views on the proposals and are holding several drop in session for members of the public to find out more.

These will be held at the Centre on Farnham Road on Tuesday January 23, Thursday January 25 and Thursday February 1.

The public consultation closes on Sunday, February 11. Residents can share their views online here or via a leaflet that will be available from Observatory House and Britwell Library from December 18.
