A Slough based youth group has raised over £1k for charity.

During 2023, Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh (HSS) Sewa (Service) teams in Slough and Maidenhead organised events to raise funds for the Thames Valley Adventure Playground.

A number of activities took place including a Yoga event in June 2023, were donations from friends, families and members of the community were requested.

On Sunday, November 29, Debbie Farnfield, one of the Trustees of Thames Valley Adventure Playground was invited to one of the HSS weekly sessions at the Langley Academy to receive a cheque for around £1,700.

Sajith Pillai, Sewa Coordinator of HSS Slough explained that this year they decided to raise funds for the Thames Valley Adventure Playground because of the great work they do to support the children and their wellbeing.

Debbie Farnfield thanked the team and its supporters for the funds and highlighted the importance of Thames Valley Adventure Playground offering people who have children and adults who are different and who would not fit into the usual setting.

She added: "The community becomes your family who understands exactly what you need when you have a child with difficulties.

"Thank you for the generous cheque that will help our charity which, like so many others, is struggling to find enough funds”
