A popular local college has unveiled a new course at its open evening.

Langley College held its first open evening of the academic year on Wednesday, October 4.

With an "impressive turnout" the college was "thrilled" to announce the latest addition to the courses on offer.

A new game design course will be available at the college from 2024.

The college boasts that it will have "cutting-edge technology" and "expert tutors".

A "state of the art" gaming lab with "top-spec" gaming PCs and hardware will be used by students on this course.

The course will allow students to use creativity and design to develop games.

Prospective students, parents, and members of the community were all in attendance for the open evening, with the college hoping to showcase its commitment to delivering the skills that students need to be a successful part of the future workforce.

Department demonstrations, campus tours, information booths and career guidance were also on offer for visitors to learn more about the college and its courses.

Gillian May, Group Principal and Chief Executive Officer expressed delight at the event's success, saying, "We are really pleased with the enthusiastic response we received at our Open Evening.

"It reaffirms our belief in the value and importance of empowering our community with the skills and knowledge they need to succeed in today's competitive world.

"A special thank you to the Hospitality and Catering students and staff who catered the refreshments and showcased their culinary expertise”.

The next open day is on November 22.
