A homeless charity has been awarded for their work in the local community through a cheque.

Cippenham Community Carnival gave a £500 cheque to Shin Dhother, founder of Slough Outreach.

Slough Outreach is a people’s initiative to help the homeless and vulnerable people in Slough, Windsor, and Maidenhead.

They provide hot meals, warm clothes, advocacy support to those struggling with homelessness, complex needs and the less fortunate people in our community.

Shin Dhother said: "We're thrilled to announce that we were the beneficiary of the 2023 Cippenham Carnival, and we've been awarded a cheque for £500.

"We're so grateful to the Cippenham Carnival Association Committee for choosing to support our work with the homeless and vulnerable residents of Slough and surrounding areas.

"This donation will make a real difference in our ability to provide essential services to those in need.

"We'd also like to thank everyone who attended the carnival and supported this wonderful event.

"Your generosity will help us to continue to provide vital support to those who need it most."
