The Old Court in Windsor is set to see two productions take the stage next month.

First to take the stage is a new adaptation of The Railway Children by Paul Burton.

The cast will perform E. Nesbit’s much-loved children’s book as a radio play at The Old Court in Windsor on Sunday, October 15 2023 at 7.30pm to raise funds for Acting for Others.

The story concerns a family, including the children Roberta (nicknamed Bobbie), Peter and Phyllis, who move from London to the Three Chimneys, a house near a railway, in Yorkshire after the father, who works at the Foreign Office, is imprisoned after being falsely accused of spying.

The cast is set to feature the likes of Philip Bretherton (As Time Goes By), Brian Capron (Coronation Street), Ella Dale (War and Peace), Sabina Franklyn (Fawlty Towers), David Warwick (Doctor Who) and Nick Wilton (EastEnders).

The following week, Eric Morecambe: A Talk by Gail Morecambe, will be playing at the Old Court on Saturday, October 21 at 7:30pm.

The synopsis reads: "In 1984, the world lost Eric Morecambe, one of our best-loved comedians and one half of the legendary comedy double act, Morecambe and Wise.

"Now, almost forty years later, Eric’s daughter, Gail Morecambe, will be appearing in Eric Morecambe: A Talk by Gail Morecambe at The Old Court in Windsor to share what it was like growing up with Eric as her father.

"At the same time, Gail will offer a unique insight into both the private and public lives of the comedian, who was not only liked by the British public – but loved."

Tickets for both shows can be purchased at oldcourt.org.
