Tug-o-war, dancing, and a host of fun runs will make up a festival set to return to Windsor Great Park this summer.

Social enterprise Parallel Living is hoping to hold its third ‘Parallel Windsor’ festival for 2023.

The festival is centered around 100m, 1k, 5k and 10k ‘runs’ which can take place at a participants own pace.

The runs are inclusive to all abilities, allowing people to walk, run, or take part with wheelchairs or pushchairs with no ‘cut off time’ for completion.

As well as the races, festival-goers can take part in a number of activities such as football, dancing, skateboarding a tug-of-war and more.

Parallel Windsor 2023 is due to take place at Windsor Great Park on Sunday, July 2, with all runs starting and finishing in the park.

In order for it to take place, Parallel requires a licence from the Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead for some of the activities.

In full, the organisation has applied to play recorded music from 9am to 4pm, and host live music, dance performances and sell alcohol from 10am to 4pm on the day.

Windsor & Eton Brewery has already signed up to provide beer for the event.

Anyone wishing to comment on the licensing application must do so by the deadline of Tuesday, June 27.

Tickets for the running challenges and entry to the festival village are on sale, with the deadline for challenge entries closing at 00.59am on Saturday, June 24.

Parallel Living previously held events in London in 2016 and 2017 before moving the festival to Windsor.
